Employment Support
Canadian Mental Health Association Mid-island provides job search and employment supports to individuals living with mental health and/or substance use challenges and who want to pursue employment. Employment Support Workers and Job Coaches, based in Nanaimo, provide employment counselling, preparatory workshops, and on-site support for work experience and employment placements.
The Employment Program focuses on the program participant’s employment goals and preferences; personalized counselling and support; and rapid job search and placement. Support services begin when the client identifies as job ready and continues as long as the participant wants and needs the support.
